What is a “Studienkolleg”?

A Studienkolleg is a preparatory course in Germany that prepares students for the Feststellungsprüfung to receive a university entrance qualification for a German University. Participating in a Studienkolleg means joining a full-time course of study and it lasts 2 semesters. At the end of the 2 semesters, the Feststellungsprüfung (FSP) takes place. Those who successfully complete the Studienkolleg achieve the direct university entrance qualification for German universities.
